Hi
First and foremost thanks for this great software!
I installed the vdagent (service) and the qxl driver 0.6.1 on a
XPSP3-guest succesfully. However I don't manage to install the
virtio-serial driver. Is it necessary? Is this the replacement for the
vdiport driver in version Spice 0.4?
I start the machine on a Fedora 14 with Spice 0.6.3 like this:
"qemu-system-x86_64 -boot c -drive
file=/vms/xpsp03_01.img,if=virtio,boot=on -soundhw ac97 -nographic -net
nic,macaddr=52:54:00:13:9f:17,model=virtio -net
tap,ifname=XP3,script=/etc/lan-ifup -vga qxl -spice
port=5931,disable-ticketing -enable-kvm -m 1024"
When using Spice 0.6.3 or 0.8 it is much slower then version 0.4. How
can I check whether Spice is successfully enabled on the client? Using
the spicec 0.6.3 or 0.8 is even slower than VNC and I know from version
0.4 that Spice should perform much better. I tested by playing the same
movie on the same guest for spice 0.4, 0.6.3 and 0.8.
I also played arround with the options in Qemu 0.14 for spice (spice 0.8
libs) but I don't see any difference. Any tips for debbugging are
welcome!
Thanks in advance!
David
