Unfortunately I can't seem to be able to reproduce this specific
error. Examining a log I have from where it has hung completely
(keyboard, mouse and display updates) I'm seeing this error but as you
said that'll be due to the connection hanging.

Could it be possible that the channel for the agent stops responding.
I noticed that if I used the keyboard to disable the vdagent service
then it was possible to use the server-based mouse. Just as soon as
the agent was enabled the mouse events stopped propagating and the
SPICE_INPUT_MOTION_ACK_BUNCH messages started spewing.

Sorry I'm not really able to give many more details than that. The log
containing the run up the complete hang including those messages is
