Just so you know this doesn't get lost: I've applied fixes, but my
repo is in a bit of a mess, so don't expect me to push too soon.

This function should probably be removed from swfdec completely and
swfdec_movie_set_variables() be replaced with
swfdec_as_object_decode(). Somehow this duplicated implementation
crept into Swfdec here...
