[Swfdec] swfdec performance

Hi ,
  I am new to swfdec development team.    I am studying the swfdec V
0.5.2source code.  I found that it requires more horse power.  I
played SWF 7
content with  the swfplay on 500MHz AMD CPU, performance was too bad.  Audio
was not playing properly and video is slow.  I played the same content using
*firefox with Adobe's macromedia flash plugin* on same hardware,
performance is too good.   Also I did few experiments with swfplay.  I found
major performance bottleneck is with usage of *cairo* graphics library.
Even some times audio doesn't play in Fedora 7 running on  AMD 1.7 Ghz
processor.  I  have following queries related to the swfdec


   - Is it possible to port swfdec to SDL or X-Server or DirectFB or GTK
   without using cairo library?
   - I am interested to improve the swfdec v0.5.2 performance and porting
   to other graphical library.  I would like complete this task within a month.
   Can  I get complete support from the developers and also  architecture
   document, design documents .
