No, these two versions of libebook are incompatible. There have been
considerable API changes between 3.4 and 3.6.

I'm not compiling SyncEvolution for EDS >= 3.6, although the source
supports that. I still need to figure out how (and for what) I should
compile the source when targeting more recent EDS versions.
Not sure whether it helps, but at least for Ubuntu Sebastian Heinlein is
offering binaries, see
