You could try giving Xephyr a try (xserver-xephyr in universe). As far
as I'm able to tell, it works much like Xnest, but supports a lot more
of the recent extensions, and so it should render correctly. It has a
few problems when you try to use Composite with it, but I'm doubting
that'll be much of a problem.
