At the moment, if the object is invalidated, prepare will never terminate.
Invalidation should trigger failure of all pending prepare calls, like it does
in telepathy-qt4.

(There is one instance of invalidated that could be a problem here - the one
emitted from dispose - but I believe that in practice we can't get that while
waiting for prepare, because the GAsyncResult refs the object.)
