[Uim] Cut/Paste problems with UIM under KDE

When I did step #1 (uim-helper-server from terminal), I got the following 
message:

failed in listen(): Invalid argument
waiting

After that, when I tried running Gedit and focusing on it, the helper applet 
still showed a "?"

What does the "failed in listen()" error mean?
