yes, it's intentional. the data this gives me is 1) if the firmware does motion
filtering, a static finger should not generate pointer events and 2) the
minimal delta the firmware will give me on slow movements. both help to
calibrate the hysteresis.
I know what the software does, what I need to know is what the hardware does.
or some of it anyway...
