@Christopher: my Carbon is 3rd generation.
@Peter: i managed to compile a proper Debian package from the latest git, will
see if anything changes. Assuming the library was reloaded right away, I see
zero changes so far. As soon as I rest my palm on the touchpad, all kinds of
unwanted stuff begin happening.
