FWIW, I checked kwin's code to launch Xwayland yesterday, from here:

  https://github.com/KDE/kwin/blob/master/main_wayland.cpp#L375

It doesn't seem to implement the lock file (like weston and mutter do) and it
doesn't look like it's explicitly enables tcp support either (no “-listen tcp”
on the command line options).
