Rob Bradford's branch of gtk that works without cairo-gl works for me.
Also, dolphinling in #wayland mentioned this video looked exactly like
what he was seeing, so I wiped my install directory and rebuilt from
scratch, and I verified that the first bad commit he mentioned breaks, and
the commit before it works:
