Ah, that must be it. I guess the distribution has been configured to
change the device permissions on login, so that e.g. a locally logged in
user has access to evdev devices.

Good to know. I thought I would have to modify weston-launch to avoid
the DRM set master stuff, since RPi has no DRM.
