This bug really looks like not being libxcb business, but a libx11 one.
The solution indicated in Ubuntu bug #277069 is to replace libxcb-xlib
by another version, proving my point that's it's not our fault, but
libx11, which libxcb-xlib is part of.
Anyhow, rather than I continue finger pointing ;-), I would suggest
to test the problem with recent libxcb and libx11, since there is no
libxcb-xlib used anymore.
