Note that stuff linking to glib has been hosted on freedesktop forever,
such as desktop-file-utils.

When expanding freedesktop.org to start hosting stuff, we wanted to
adopt the policy that anything "on topic" and reasonable-looking would
be hosted, just to avoid having to debate whether to host each thing.

It's a separate question whether a thing is considered "standard," in
fact we may host multiple competing projects in a given area.

At least that's my view, I don't run the whole show.
