Are there any plans to split the GNOME GUI from the backends? Moving the
backends into a separate package at freedesktop.org might make the system
more interesting for other people. Looking (briefly) at knetworkconf, it
seems we're expected to fork gst when making a new GUI, which isn't very
helpful.
