Is anyone working on this? I would also like to have the original links 
working again, (e.g. http://freedesktop.org/Standards/menu-spec/) because 
those URLs have been used in various documents referring to these specs.
Also links like http://www.freedesktop.org/standards/menu-spec/1.0/menu.dtd 
give 404s at the moment.

The current state of the website hurst the credibility of freedesktop.org 
IMHO.
