glib/gobject usage policy

Hello

I maintain libxklavier project hosted by fd.o - and would like to use
glib as a handy C utility library (and gobject as a handy C
object-oriented framework). My question is what is the current
position of fd.o in this aspect? Are the projects allowed to use glib
internally and externally (expose in API)? Are the projects encouraged
to have glib-free API but they can have their own internal copy of
glib?

Any relevant ideas/comments/links would be appreciated.
