Yeah, that's what I was saying. A D-BUS service is like a protocol.
Just like you can use your web browser to connect to any web server (and
that web server can serve static pages, script-generated pages, pages
pulled from a database, etc), you can do the same with a configuration
daemon using D-BUS.
