Focus drop target windows on drag?

I wonder whether it would be useful to associate a number of drop
targets with single windows and focus a drop target window if a drag
matches the drop targets of the window and moves onto it or its
representation in window selectors (in panels, menus, etc.)?
Are there already means to provide this functionality?
