The information here doesn't explain *why* the directory name "apps" was
chosen, and *why* it was made a sub-directory, rather than following the
specification in the FHS. It merely explains what the different
directories are meant to contain.

Are you opposed to moving the stuff in share/apps to the share/
directory directly? Or were you just pointing out the page that contains
some information about the KDE directory layout? Just wondering, as I am
about to write up a patch to the Icon Theme Specification based on the
consensus that James and I came to about app-specific icons being in
there.
