no meta ALT: setxkbmap: Error loading new keyboard description

Above what I've written in the previous email i want to add other 
information that may help to track down the problem... :
Using xorg version 6.8.0-r1 on gentoo

I can't even switch the virtual terminals with ctrl +alt + Fkey
I looked at all thread regarding this error in particular here

and here http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=245644
advice to check for consistance between the file 
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/xkbcomp and /usr/X11R6/bin/xkbcomp
And they are the same file!

In knoppix works with the same parameter ... but different name for the 
driver (keyboard) and "XkbRules" (xfree). Tryed as well with no difference.
