IMO the good thing of EXA is that people will want to use it. It doesn't
matter if x.org can do transparencies and drop shadows just like mac
os x, the good thing about mac os x is that they _use_ the technology
available, unlike linux apps running under x.org+EXA, Xgl or whatever
state-of-the-art technology you develop. 

EXA will make app developers start caring about adding eyecandy to
their apps much sooner than the alternatives, and that's very important
IMO.
