xorg7.0+Mesa6.5+Intel video = unsupported visual problem

Hi,

I am using Gentoo Linux with the latest CVS versions of Xorg, Mesa and the 
Intel driver.

When I run glxgears or glxinfo I get "libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not 
support visual 0x4b".

I have read in several places that this shouldn't be a problem, however I 
have noticed some weird behaviour with one particular game (Neverwinter 
Nights). When this game loads, the initial screen has a sync or refresh 
problem. It looks like it's redrawing diagnally and flickering all over the 
place. Almost like a strobe light effect. If I click on the load game 
options and a couple of subsequent screens, when the actual program starts, 
it calms down and corrects. If I exit back then to main screen, the flicker 
is gone.

It almost appears that it is trying a non-supported refresh, unable to sync 
initially or something, but then finds one it likes.

Has anyone got any ideas? I am running this on a laptop (Acer Aspire 1410 
WLCi) which has a 855GME card.

Previously using Xorg 7.0 and Mesa 6.4.2 and the i810 1.4.1.3 I never had 
this problem. In fact, if I use Mesa 6.5 and copy the i915_dri.so from a 
6.4.2 build over the 6.5 build the problem doesn't appear (assuming I still 
use the i810 1.4.1.3 driver).

It only happens with the new intel driver (either from CVS or GIT) and new 
Mesa 6.5. I expect this to be either a Mesa or Intel driver issue, but 
cannot determine which.

Any suggestions welcome.
