At least two mistakes:

1) internal fonts
2) LC_ALL and LANG set to en_US.UTF8

Should be:

1) Adobe fonts if FOX uses the core X11 fonts protocol, DejaVu if it uses XFT
2) LANG set to en_US.UTF-8 (note the dash), LC_ALL unset
