Xft (devel question)

Hello,

I'm trying to be able to handle pre-rendered xft-text.

The point is that when I try to somehow store pixmaps
with xft text rendered on them, they show a random
noisy background when mapped whether I'm trying to
achieve transparency.

Some screenshots can be found here:

I've tried setting a black background on the pixmap,
and then rendering the text within it, but when using
xcomposite I just cannot see anything at all.

Actually, the only way I can put it to work is just
rendering without using composite. Have tried this
many different ways with no success, though.

What I'm doing now, is to create whole pixmaps, thus,
full-icon image, full-icon mask, and another full-icon
1-bit mask on behalf of xshape, so it makes easier to
handle this, create pictures for xrender, etc.

Anyway, although I could render this text at
*composting time*, I might need to keep separate
off-screen rendering stage from the actual window
compositing one as much as possible, cose I might need
to be able to have more control over rendered text,
among many other things.

Haven't got any problems with images of any kind nor
with xlfd rendering, but when trying to handle
xft-text.

Any comments about?

Best Regards,
