cursor corruption on the s3g card

Hi all:
I meet a problem, the current problem is the cursor corruption,
please see the attachment
Any advice are welcome, thank your very much!
The current state is :
(1) the xorg is 6.9.0,
(2) the card is S3G Qimonda card 512M ddr3 memory
(3) the os is redhat enterprise release 4, Linux 2.6.9-5.ELsmp #1
SMP Wed Jan 5 19:30:39 EST 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU
(4) if exec startx and logout and kill X, and exec startx , can't
enter X-windows, the /var/log/Xorg.0.log is down:

(II) s3g(0): initializing int10
(II) s3g(0): Primary V_BIOS segment is: 0xc000

(--) s3g(0): bios detects 256M video memory
(--) s3g(0): connected device CRT1

(EE) s3g(0): S3GGetDevActive failed
(EE) s3g(0): S3GInitHardWare failed
