The remarks above were for my ASUS P5K-V with g33 chipset and no ADD2 card
on the Debian testing version of X. X also mostly runs fine with my hardware
on a patched version (see latest patch at
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13196) of the Debian unstable
version of X.

I don't know at all for G35 or G31 and not for sure for G33 since I have not
tried X on Debian etch or Ubuntu 7.10 for my G33 hardware.  If one or both
of those distro versions have version 2:2.1.0-2 (or close to it) of the
xserver-xorg-video-intel package (that version is the Debian testing
version) you should at least be okay with G33.
