XVideo on Trident TGUI 9660 hangs

Hi there,

I'm having troubles with XVideo on my old Fujitsu laptop with a Trident
TGUI 9660 chipset. Both with xine and mplayer, my computer completely
hangs after playing video clips.

With mplayer's x11 driver (-vo x11), there is no problem, so it has to
be the XVideo part.

The issue seems to be quite old, see

Does anybody know if that problem has been solved?
