Sounds like that might be the Xv problem. Being fixed in latest git, see
http://gitweb.freedesktop.org/?p=xorg/driver/xf86-video-intel.git;a=summary
Grab it with
git clone git://anongit.freedesktop.org/git/xorg/driver/xf86-video-intel
