Fatal Error with xorg Installation

I am runnung X.org 6.9.9 on FreeBSD 6.2.  My video card is NVIDIA GFORCE 7300 GT.  After I installed the xorg port I configured it  (#Xorg -configure).  
  The configuration seems complete and then I tried to test my configuration with the commands Xorg -config xorg.conf.new.  It goes through the testing and the following error messages follow: 
  (EE) 1810(1):Cannot read V_BIOS (3)
(EE) 1810(1):VBE initialization failed.
  Fatal Server error:
Caught signal 8.  Server aborting
   
  Has anyone experienced this before?  What is probably the cause and the fix?  Thanks.
