MPX should fail HW cursor initialisation before it even gets to the
driver. I'm surprised you still need the Option SWCursor.

ln -s /etc/X11/xkb /opt/mpx/share/X11
gets you the xkb setup from your old x server. it's a hack, and there's
a proper way to do it but this will do.
