Hey, that was nice of you, to take that extra step.  I do a appreciate it, and
now I have to see why my FreeBSD-ports supplied gs is acting sick.  I just tried
gs alone on a good file and a bad one, it does fine (defaulting to X11) on the
good one, and putting out the host of error message on the .mif-derived one.
With all those error messages, I oughta be able to track it down fine.

I think I'll echo that to the list here, so no-one spends any more time on an
obvious local problem of mine.
