Versions of mesa/drm/intel_drv/xorg-server to get OpenGL 2.1 support?

Hi,
So, this question has been partially asked in the past but I can't derive a clear
answer. It has been claimed in various places that if you get all the right versions
of all the right pieces into place, then you'll be able to accelerate OpenGL 2.1
with the intel driver. I'd really like to try this out, but I'm currently stumbling
in the dark on how to get there.
xf86-video-intel: master (This part is pretty clear)
mesa/drm: drm-gem branch? I think so but this won't compile with any mainline kernel
due to shmem_getpage not being exported. Is there some patch for that? what should I
be doing here?
mesa/mesa: master? I assume the 7.0.x branch doesn't work.
xorg-server: Does this have to be master? My understanding is that if mesa 7.1.x is
required, then I have to move to master/1.5
Anything else I'm missing?
