I've never noticed any material difference in colors or speed between Nouveau 
on my dual DVI 8600GT/G84 and Radeon on several different ATI cards of 
similar age (or Intel for that matter). What xorg, nouveau, kernel, and 
distro versions are you using, on what CPU?
