Sorry I will not be able to help you defining the word "library" related to 
the OCAL project, since English is not my born language, and because using 
this word in this context is very strange for me too (so I undersand that 
people can be confused).

But I would be pleased to help in anyway I can, so I have made the French 
translation of the article on Wikipedia (in which I have not translated 
library by its usual French translation, which is book library[1], but by 
the translation of collection).
[1] More recently we also use the same word "library" to talk about computer 
libraries, but this comes from the English. On this point at the beginning 
(end still sometimes today, especially when talking) French didn't use the 
translation of library for computer library (which is "bibliothèque") but 
"librairie" which is very close and pronounced in the same way, but which 
means something else (even with a close meaning ;-) bookshop/bookseller's).
So that's why this word sounds so strange for me (maybe just for me, and not 
for every French, I don't know).

If there are other French speaking people around, the article is of course 
open for modification and discussion, as usual on Wikipedia!

I did plan to make the French page when I first have read the thread here 
about the OCAL Wikipedia article, but time runs and runs, and I have only 
done this task just after posting the initial answer to the question at the 
beginning of this thread.
