There are XFree86 CVS tags in nearly every file in the tree. Their
presence does not mean they came "from" Xfree86 at all, merely that
they were in XFree86's repo. Those tags go back over ten years and
were in use when XC/XPT and XFree86 were actively keeping the trees
in sync.
