intel 915gm + xf86-video-intel-2.1.1 brightness flickering

Hello,

I run Xorg-7.2 (xorg-server-1.3) + xf86-video-intel-2.1.1 . When I
start Xorg, the screen flickers three times, and the LVDS brightness
is always restored to maximum level.

AIGLX disabled, COMPOSITE disabled, RENDER enabled, using XAA, DRI
disabled. TV output set to Ignored, VGA is not connected.

I see, that the driver checks for LVDS modes on the same I2C channel 3
or 4 times during initialization. Is this normal?
