We can't change GTK_IM_MODULE directly, but we can select input method by
localedrake (Thierry did it for Mandrake10.1 :-).
$ localedrake
You'll see them:

a) If you choose SCIM, localedrake will write it in ~/.i18n
GTK_IM_MODULE=scim
b) If you choose UIM/Japan, localedrake will write it in ~/.i18n
GTK_IM_MODULE=uim-anthy

I added i18n-scim.bz2 and i18n-uim.bz2 to this mail.
