I get the same compiz error, not the Xorg warning though. I first 
thought it was an nVidia drivers issue, but since you get something 
similar in an ATI card it might be more general. I have filed a bug 
report for my problem a week ago.

most reports for this type of error I've seen are related to glitz 
issues. That doesn't seem to be the case in my case.
I have glproto version 1.4.7 and I use the Xorg server from Fedora Core 
6 (version 7.1.1 build date 31 August 2006). As you can see from my 
report, everything seems to be fine, yet compiz doesn't operate properly.

Any advice?
