Hi,

It might be slightly better to reverse the test - i.e. only ignore a "no 
such directory" error, and fail on any other kind of error. I don't know 
offhand what the right error to ignore is called though.

Another thing we might want to do before 1.0 is run dbus-uuidgen in make 
install... otherwise a CVS build won't work without manual intervention.
