Can you dump your regs before and after calling xrandr? using radeonreg
available here (http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~airlied/radeontool/)

(as root after resume):
radeonreg regs all > broken.regs
(run xrandr)
radeonreg regs all > fixed.regs
