[Fontconfig] fc-query output, misunderstanding?

http://cgit.freedesktop.org/fontconfig/ shows 2.8 which is the same
(2.8.8.0-4) as I have installed (Fedora 64 bit)
  So it would appear that I have the latest (I can't find a minor
version number in the .zip file?)

I'll report a bug... (trying to think how, without including a font file?)
