There's some work being done currently to make the GStreamer net clock
more reliable btw, and switching it to a new protocol that behaves like
PTP should probably be done in the longer term.

Take a look at the code of the netclock, or any of the other clock
subclasses in GStreamer, e.g. the audio clock or the clock in dv1394src.
