Like slomo said, gst-plugins-gl has not been released for 1.x branch
yet, which is why it's generally not available. Though i do build it
from git on my buildslave regularly, so it compiles just fine, and even
works.

If you're willing to give sbuild a try, i can make a gst-plugins-gl
package for you to use on top of it.
Or you can build on top of GStreamer SDK - at this point a simple
autogen/configure/make combo should just work (hopefully), as
gst-plugins-gl does not have any exotic dependencies (other than OpenGL
extension headers and GStreamer core/base).
