If you want to keep the old behaviour of lshal you should also print for 
'lshal' the long version (maybe add a option --short or --udi). IMO the short 
output of lshal isn't what you want if you run lshal without options.

It would be usefull to have also a line with number of dumped devices in the 
short output. 

If wanted, I would write a patch.
