[Libdlo] Using block-based video compression?

Hello everyone,

there's one idea which has been sitting at the back of my head for at
least half a year: I'd like to take advantage of the block-based
compression which is present in many video codecs and use that on a
Displaylink device.

However, in order to give this a try, I need a video decoder which
doesn't give me completed pictures, but rather decoded blocks
respectively block motion information.

Does anybody know how to get this data from, e.g., ffmpeg?
