I keep getting this "DRM:Intelfb_restore" error when I try to run Ubuntu with the VGA display disconnected. It also puts up the text "Failed to blah blah CRTC" or something like that, and then ends up with the number "-22" at the end of the line.

I believe that X is trying to find the monitor, and of course it can't -- BECAUSE I UNPLUGGED it!!! Of course, X can't have two displays sharing a server. So...it also unloads the displaylink drivers (I wish that it would just unload the INTEL drivers...)

Maybe there is some way to disable the on-board graphics entirely, using software. I wish that I could find some way to do this -- so that at least I could test whether the displaylink driver works. I believe that if we could find some way to do this, then we could all test the current driver much more readily and easily.

Thoughts...?!
