i guess you can drop VPN, mercurial or bzr if one of them is really too
scary for them...
but all of them have a use for our projects (except maybe mercurial...)
eventually ftp, too (many people are still using it... but everybody
knows nobody should
ah, and we should add SMTP to that list! (i'm adding it... i will remove
it if somebody raises a concern).
anyway, the explanation why all those ports are needed:
programmers are coming and they will be working together on their
project during the day.
they need to be in touch with their community through email and chatting.
they will be writing code and committing it to their servers.
sorry, instead of dropping protocols, i've added one...
