[LGM] should LGM or its site have something to say about Charlie Hebdo?

Which countries make the weapons? ;)

No no, THAT is the point :) Should all views be expressed? Almost (*)
nowhere is this the law.

Some views, offensive views to those with power, are banned by almost all
countries laws and those laws are actively enforced by governments;
depending on who is in power, different things are banned in different
places.

Company (and conference! :) bylaws are often far stricter. Turning to our
conference bylaws, the coc says, emphasis mine,

"The Libre Graphics community is committed to providing a safe __and
welcoming__ environment for all participants, regardless of, for example:
ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, appearance, impairment,
__religion,__ or technical ability."

LGM has had nothing to do with current affairs and I think it ought to stay
that way; let's have a big tent with no distractions, please.

Cheers
Dave

(*) The USA constitution has an extremist view that all offensive speech is
permitted, but the de facto reality is not the case; eg reporting on
American imperialism offends imperialists and is prosecuted with life
sentences and the death penalty.
